Privacy Policy

Rent Tracker (“we”, “us”) runs renttrackerapp.com, a tool that helps landlords keep track of rent, tenants, and leases. This policy explains what information we keep, why, and what you can do about it. Questions? Email hello@renttrackerapp.com.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in provider; we can never see them.
• What you enter: property addresses, units, rent amounts and due days, tenant names, emails, phone numbers, lease end dates, and the rent payments you record.
• Basic technical logs: like most websites, our hosting providers keep short-term logs (such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit) to keep the service running and secure.

We use one cookie, to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To run Rent Tracker for you: show your dashboard, save your changes, and export your payments.
• To send account emails, such as confirming your email address.
• To answer you when you contact us, and to keep the service secure.

We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we never contact your tenants.

Information about your tenants

When you add a tenant, you're giving us information about another person. Please only add information you have a legitimate reason to keep, such as managing their tenancy. We use it only to provide Rent Tracker to you, and only you can see it.

Who helps us run the service

We share data only with the companies that make Rent Tracker work:

• Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in. Data is stored in the United States.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Resend delivers our account emails.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

How we protect it

All traffic to Rent Tracker is encrypted (HTTPS). Inside the database, security rules make sure each landlord can only read and change their own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your information while your account is open. You can download your payment history any time from the Money page. To delete your account and everything in it, email hello@renttrackerapp.com from the address on your account, and we'll delete it within 30 days. Copies in short-term backups are removed shortly after.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change your information in the app, and you can ask us for a copy of it, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights; email us and we'll help.

Children

Rent Tracker is for adults managing rental property. It isn't meant for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also email you before they take effect.
